New Non-Contact Position Feedback Cylinders

More Info: Non-Contact Position Feedback Cylinders
(4 pfd catalog pages)

Bimba Non-Contact Position Feedback Cylinders

Bimba’s NEW Non-contact Position Feedback Cylinders are the pneumatic feedback cylinders designed for applications that traditional technology cannot address.

PFCN models are resistant to the effects of moisture, oil, airborne debris, dust, and air line contamination. In addition, the probe cannot be worn out by rapid short-stroke cycling. For machines requiring multiple cylinders, each cylinder is factory calibrated for precise 0 to 10 volt DC output, ensuring error free installation and field replacement.

The key design element is Bimba’s proprietary magnetostrictive sensor. The sensor, fixed inside the cylinder, senses position as the magnetic piston moves back and forth across the sensor’s length. In addition to improved performance and durability, the new technology enables Bimba’s PFCN’s to reach lower price points previously unattainable with older magnetostrictive technology.

Models and options – Save up to $317.30!

Models are available in 09, 17, 31, 50, and 70 bores, in strokes up to 9 inches. Rod lock models are also available. Options include front nose, block front, and universal mounting, bumpers, rod extension, low friction design, and, very importantly, companion closed loop PCS controls.

Order a Bimba PCS control as an option with a PFCN cylinder and enjoy substantial savings. Total savings on the package ranges from $178 to $317.30, depending on model. Although cost of ownership of a PFCN is a selling point due to improved durability and reliability, we understand that in difficult economic times, cost of ownership may be more difficult to sell. For customers forced to manage tight budgets, the control option discount will be very welcome.

Please see our Non-Contact Position Feedback Cylinders Brochure (4 pfd catalog pages) for detailed performance, selection and ordering information.

New Heavy Duty Four Shaft Thrusters (T4) Product Offering

More Info: Linear Thrusters T4 Series (4 pfd catalog pages)

Bimba Heavy Duty Four Shaft Thruster (T4)

Bimba is pleased to introduce our new heavy duty ‘T4’ Thruster. Available in bore sizes 2" and larger, this new Thruster from Bimba offers the smooth actuation found in our T series Thrusters while providing 2x the static load carrying capability. This increased load carrying capability is achieved by increasing the number of case hardened guide shafts from 2 to 4.

The T4 Thruster includes the same design features as Bimba’s original T series Thruster. The distinct black anodized body houses precision, recirculating ball bearings used on all 4 guide shafts to provide ultra smooth actuation. Having the two additional guide shafts doubles the load carrying capacity and reduces deflection.

Product Summary
Ball and lead screws are available. The lead screw provides the quietest operation and least end play, while the ball screw provides highest efficiency and greatest load capacity.

Standard options include stroke length adjustments, bumpers, a switch track, and a screw wiper to keep contamination out of the drive nut.

  • Available in (3) standard bore sizes: 2", 2-1/2", and 3" bores.
  • Standard stroke lengths are available in 1" increments to 12". Stroke lengths are available in fractional increments and up to 36” maximum.
  • Options include: Internal Cylinder Bumpers, External Guide shaft bumpers, Cushions, Magnetic Position Sensing

Please see our Linear Thrusters T4 Series Brochure (4 pfd catalog pages) for detailed performance, selection and ordering information.
